1.  After I have received a puppy application form from you, I will get in touch if you are a good fit for one of our goldens.  We will set up a good time for both of us to talk more about your application.  This is done to make sure we place dogs with ideal families to ensure the puppy has the absolute best chance of being in a forever home. 

2.   If we decide to move forward, I will place you on my waiting list with your preferred litter and preference for either a male or female puppy. A $500 deposit will be required to hold a place for a puppy.  You are more than welcome to be on our waiting list without a deposit, but spots fill up fast and will only be reserved with deposit. 

3.  While families will be put in order of their paid deposits, we do not necessarily go in deposit order when it is time to send puppies home. Instead, all puppies' personalities are assessed throughout the 8 weeks they are with me, and we will work with the family to place the appropriate puppy in each home.  Sometimes several puppies might be available that I feel are a good fit for your family, and sometimes it may only be one.   Dharma's Way Golden Retrievers always reserves the right to hold a puppy that does not fit a particular family.   Our goal is always a happy family and a happy dog!  *** Please see disclaimer below regarding your deposit***

4.  Families will be notified frequently throughout the pregnancy/birth and growth of the puppies.  Several emails will be sent out to help you prepare for your new family member.   We send vaccine, vitamin and food updates, among other things!  
  
5.  When you originally inquire about a puppy, or place a deposit, I will give you the best guess scenario as to the day the puppies will be born.  After they have been whelped, I will give a more concrete day that pick-up will occur.    If you have a schedule conflict that absolutely cannot be worked out, please let know as soon as possible so that we can make other arrangements.  Please note that there will be a three day grace period if the puppy is to be picked up later than the scheduled pick up day.  After that, it will be $35 daily for boarding, as all puppies will need to be individually kennel trained after they hit the 8 week mark.  
 
6.  Puppies will be picked up at 8 weeks of age or later, depending on when the weekend falls.  Each family will be given a good sized time block for pick up so I can help you with any questions that you may have.  Please stick as closely to your appointment time as possible, as we frequently schedule many families all in a row in the same day.  
 
7.  Puppies will go home with their vaccination record, microchip information, AKC limited registration paperwork, and their very own blanket that smells like mom.  

***DEPOSIT DISCLAIMER:  Our puppy deposit is non-refundable so that we can insure we have enough homes to place our puppies in before they are born.  Your deposit serves as our go-ahead to do a select breeding when we know families are committed to that litter.  In the event you place a deposit and then decide you do not want a puppy from the list you were on, such as a different litter, we reserve the right to bump you to a future litter of our choosing.  There is a possibility that you will not be in the same order in this litter, as others may be reserved already.  The only time we will consider refunding a deposit is when we can not place a puppy of the desired sex because there were not enough in the litter that was promised to you.
